There are many free versions of “Press/News Release Services”, which give both the veteran and the beginning eBook author and publisher an opportunity to get a feel for the effectiveness; however, there is a great deal of competition and “riff raff” submissions to contend with too.

The paid variety of “Press/News Release Services” tend to keep out abusers, and the low cost usually makes this one element worth the subscription.  But… Shop around, the prices and effectiveness can be very varied.

One such service I consider to be a favorite (and no, I do not collect any kick back for this promotion) is a company know as “Webwire”, and the URL is naturally: http://www.webwire.com .

The positive aspects is fast indexing (2 days), on par with ezine articles, little competition, and it is easy to use once you get familiar with the Website.
 
Remember that Google, Yahoo and MSN bots visit frequently, and the price keeps out the “riff raff” that most free sites get.  I would tend to “theorize” that Google may give it a few special points because of this.

On the downside, which I consider a plus because it reduces a lot of competition, is that it cost a little bit.
 
Also the results last about 1 to 2 weeks, but it is great to use for new eBook launches.
 
To stay “clean” you need to submit each press release by following the really easy guidelines, which can be read at this URL:

However, the guidelines are not really very tough, but be sure to follow them because 1. You know your release pulled, and 2. They usually convert very well because you wrote your article as NEWS and not as a sales pitch.
 
Webwire can be a powerful little tool to keep in your arsenal.
